As a writer, I can’t help but put a little of myself in each novel, a little striptease of my soul, if you will. I adore the passion and promise of romance. And, I am a true believer in soul mates. As a social psychologist, I’m fascinated with the interplay of people and situations. I love to put my characters in a vise and squeeze and then squeeze again. As a reader, I am most affected by memorable scenes. I still recall the scene from a book that I read over 15 years ago. I don’t recall the characters’ names or the book’s title. I do recall the author and the moment. I will never look at peach cobbler in the same way again. A good scene for me is the perfect mix of dialogue, description, and desire. I dream of writing scenes as memorable as that one. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area with my husband and daughter. I have been reading romance novels since I was 11 years old. I shyly admit that I started out with the spicy ones, sneaking under the covers at night with a flashlight. I am sure the level of passion in those books are a great influence on my writing today. I am still an avid reader of historical and paranormal romance, and, of course, romantic suspense. I have some great ideas for more suspense novels. Please check back periodically for new books on the horizon! I took the photograph posted on my home page on a recent trip to Paris. It's a beautiful illustration of sensual romantic suspense. I would love to hear from you. E-mail me at candiekeane@yahoo.com
